Media across Japan are reporting the sad news of the death of the famous comedian Ken Shimura, who was infected with COVID-19. It is known that from young children to old people, what they like to do is laugh out loud. Therefore if I make gestures accompanied by dialogue, and the body language I make are funny enough, people would laugh out loud. This idea has not changed. Ken Shimura tested positive for the coronavirus on March 23rd and was the first entertainer in Japan to have been confirmed of contracting the virus. As the COVID-19 pandemic continue to ravage Japan, the government has ordered a lockdown last weekend in Tokyo, which is the hardest hit area and the neighboring four provinces including Saitamaken, Chibaken, Kanagawaken and Yamanashi-ken. The usually bustling streets in Ginza Tokyo and other areas are now empty. I've never seen such a sight. I'm a little bit surprised to see such few people on the street. What will happen if this pandemic continues? The confirmed cases of COVID-19 are close to the 2,000 mark. The accumulated confirmed cases in Tokyo alone exceeds 430, which is double of the number of confirmed cases in the Osaka Prefecture. Osaka currently has the second highest number of confirmed cases in Japan. Tokyo citizens were asked to stay home by their employers this weekend even if they were scheduled to go to work. I stay at home most of the time during the weekend. The company told the people who were scheduled to go to work to stay home during the weekend as well. So I've been cleaning the house and polishing my leather shoes over the weekend.
