Lodge No-shows Plague National Parks 屢傳申請山屋未入住 雪管處強化入園查核

In the future, no-shows will be banned from making reservations for half a year to a year.

A hiker filmed footage of snow falling on Xueshan. A cold air mass arrived in Taiwan a few days before the Qingming Festival long weekend, and April snow fell over some peaks. Many people rushed to see the snow and some chose to book slots at mountain lodges. Even though there are some dates where slots are completely booked, there are also many no-shows.

Chen Lai-hsing, Veteran Mountain Guide: “Many people just enter all the draws, thinking they might not win and they'll decide whether to go if they win. It's fine if you say in advance that you're not going. That way, other people can take your spot. ”

This trail is comparatively long, and most hikers choose to stay for two nights. The website to apply for a stay shows that few slots are available even on weekdays. On weekends, there are even fewer. For some dates, there are over 800 people on the waiting list. Shei-Pa National Park says it will strengthen checks.

Chen Chun-shan, Dep. Director, Shei-Pa National Park Headquarters: “The most important thing is to know the hikers' itineraries, because sometimes an emergency will occur and you need to know where a certain person is. Sometimes. There are times when a disaster occurs and they're not here but we don't know that when family members notify us.”

The park says all slots were booked during this recent long weekend, but 40 percent didn't show up. People who have slots but know they can't go are asked to cancel their reservations at least five days in advance. They should also notify the park even if they decide not to come at the last minute. Those who fail to do so won't be able to make reservations for a half year. Those who repeatedly engage in this type of behavior will be banned for a year.

資深登山嚮導陳來興表示： 「他會去搶，但他會抱著我不一定搶得到，我就去申請，我申請到了以後，再看我有沒有時間，你如果有提前講，那還可以多幾個夥伴來參與，不一定是我們的夥伴，多幾個想要來的人呀。」

雪山山脈的聖稜線，是通往雪山主峰的熱門登山步道，像是369山莊和七卡山莊，都是登頂前的熱門住宿點，也因為這條路線比較長，大多山友都會選擇住上兩夜。但打開雪管處的申請網站，就算是平常日名額只有個位數，假日幾乎都額滿，候補人數最高甚至超過800人。雪管處表示，也將加強入園查核。

雪霸國家公園管理處副處長陳俊山表示： 「最重要還是要掌握山友的行程，有時候真的是緊急災害的時候，這個人到底在哪裡，有時候根本沒有上山，但家屬跟我們報案時，我們也不曉得他有沒有上山。」

雪管處表示，以這次連假來說，雖然申請額滿，但實際上還是有大約四成的人數取消。除了呼籲因故無法成行者，要在入園日前5天取消，就算是當天也要告知園方，否則將予以停權半年，累犯的話將停權一年，維護其他山友的權益。
