Taoyuan City Mayor Cheng Wen-tsan says while the number of new confirmed cases are expected to increase, they are all traceable and under monitor so the public should not panic. Meanwhile, two large-scale screenings have been conducted at two factories in the city and no new cases were reported.
Taoyuan City has set up corporate testing for migrant workers in response to the Farglory FTZ and Askey cluster infections. One new case, a migrant worker from Vietnam, was confirmed on the 27th. His infection source is unknown. The city tested 645 other workers at the factory; all tested negative.
Cheng Wen-tsan, Taoyuan City Mayor: “It's worth testing 60,000 people to find one positive case. Apart from the Askey cluster infection, the situation with migrant workers is under control.”
The city also tested 348 workers at a Guishan technology plant after a worker, whose child goes to Jimmy Bear Kindergarten, tested positive. The other plant employees all tested negative. Mayor Cheng Wen-tsan also believed there will be more positive cases after 3,856 people have tested at a community testing station.
Cheng Wen-tsan, Taoyuan City Mayor: “We tested 3,856 people yesterday, and the new case was from contact tracing. We have to continue with testing.”
Cheng says the city has a full grasp on all four of Taoyuan's transmission chains but hopes that anyone who recently visited the Chiendu hot pot restaurant in Bade or Happy Farm restaurant can go get tested. Many testing stations will remain open over the holiday.
遠雄自貿園區延燒出亞旭傳播鏈後，桃園市府立即展開企業移工擴大快篩，27日成功揪出1名某工廠越南籍移工確診，感染源還不明。市府緊急針對全廠員工645人，PCR採檢後全數陰性。
桃園市長鄭文燦表示：「雖然我們篩檢6萬位，那篩出1位（確診移工），還是非常有價值。那除了有亞旭這個群聚感染的事件以外，基本上移工的防疫安全，基本上還是非常穩定的。」
由於加貝爾幼兒園傳播鏈，有學童父親確診，他在桃園龜山某科技廠上班，職場員工348人，市府也都進行採檢，全廠員工都是陰性。不過，社區採檢站27日共篩檢3856人，市長鄭文燦預告，會再新增個案。
桃園市長鄭文燦說：「昨天採檢了3856人，那麼有新增個案，都是匡列採檢，或者是可以追溯的範圍，但是這個採檢還是必須要繼續下去。」
雖然鄭文燦強調，目前桃園的4條傳播鏈輪廓清楚，不過再呼籲民眾，到過錢都火鍋八德介壽店、農家樂小吃店等場所，通通來採檢，就怕還有潛在感染源。他表示，防疫分秒必爭，過年期間，部分採檢站繼續運行，要和病毒賽跑，盡速圍堵疫情。
