Kaohsiung has reported 42 domestic cases of COVID-19 during the current outbreak with cluster infections mostly contained in Cijin.
On one side, patients line up to see the doctor. On the other, people line up for vaccines. Only fully vaccinated people can enter the clinic. On the 23rd, Kaohsiung City ordered clinics to give home screening kits to all patients with respiratory symptoms and to follow up with them on results. Clinics say accuracy and honesty are huge concerns.
Tseng Che-huang, Vice Superintendent of ENT Clinic: “(Rapid screening kits) aren't that accurate and that's not ideal. Timing and delayed reporting are other key factors. If you put the onus on clinics to keep tabs on (patients), that becomes an even greater burden.”
Clinics say they are willing to accommodate the city government, but the quality of medical care will go down due to the increased workload. They are calling on the government to review rolling shifts.
Citizen: “You get to avoid places and exposure in places with a lot of people. It's safer at home.”
Citizen: “If there are asymptomatic carriers, it's really hard to stop the transmission chain. I think people should do the home screening.”
Kaohsiung has reported 42 domestic cases during the current wave, including a cluster infection at the Port of Kaohsiung. It has expanded community testing and hopes residents will take advantage.
Citizen: “Doing a home test might make you feel safer. If I have to get tested, I'll go get tested.”
Community testing stations have been set up at temples and hospitals in Cijin. There are 23 testing stations around the city.
一早診所湧入不少人，左邊是醫師看診的戶外呼吸道門診區，另一個是打針區，民眾掛號、領藥都由工作人員代勞，只有疫苗的人，才能進到診間。高雄市府23日公布，除了戶外設置上呼吸道看診區外，有類似症狀的民眾到診所看診，醫師評估後要給居家快篩劑，讓民眾回家自篩，也要掌握快篩結果，恐怕造成診所工作量大增，診所醫師也擔心，民眾自己快篩準確性，以及是否能誠實回報結果。
耳鼻喉科診所副院長曾哲凰表示：「（快篩）沒有做得很準確，這個結果也是不理想的，是不是這個人的快篩結果，然後他拿來給我們，甚至時間過了到底多久，這個也是很重要的因素，如果要診所再來掌握這個資訊就會變成更大的負擔。」
基層診所表示，為了防疫診所都願意配合，但增加的工作量，怕讓醫療品質降低，建議政府滾動式檢討。
民眾說：「就不用在那麼多人的地方，暴露在危險之中，就家裡會比較安全。」
另名民眾則說：「他因為得病，然後沒有被發現再傳染，這個很難把這個傳播鏈阻絕掉，所以我認為是應該做（居家快篩）。」
高雄已有42例本土確診病例，尤其高雄港群聚事件，不少船上工作人員確診，加上相關行業的公司行號都在旗津，市府擴大旗津區社區篩檢，呼籲旗津民眾踴躍接受篩檢，要儘速阻斷社區傳播鏈。
民眾表示：「篩一篩，看會不會比較安心，要檢查、我就來檢查。」
旗津福壽宮、旗津醫院等地都增加設立篩檢站，讓當地民眾篩檢，市府也提醒民眾有足跡重疊者，可就近到全市23家採檢站預約採檢。
