Workers at Shinkong Mitsukoshi stores in Taipei and Taichung have tested positive for COVID-19. Both department stores shut down on June 11 for disinfection, but it did not test employees working on the same floor as the infected workers, which greatly upset staff.

The 29-year-old woman who tested positive for COVID-19 works at a department store counter. She had come into contact with an infected relative in Changhua County, so we believe that is how she was infected. Based on what we know now, we have asked five people to quarantine while we wait for their PCR test results. We have also notified the department store where she works to close down for disinfection. It cannot reopen until disinfection is completed.

Shinkong employees at the Taichung store were not notified until they were getting off work on June 10. Before the store closed for the night, there were already workers in protective gear disinfecting the store. Although the news got out on June 10, the Taichung City Government and Shinkong did not make any announcements. Taxi queue drivers in the area are irate.
I found out yesterday afternoon. I knew yesterday. So how come the city government didn't make an announcement until this morning? It's beyond comprehension.
Meanwhile, three staff at Shinkong's Taipei Station store have tested positive since June 1 but the store was not closed for disinfection until June 11. Despite the series of infections, Shinkong did not bother providing rapid screening, much to the displeasure of employees. The Taipei City Labor Inspection Office is investigating and has ordered Shinkong to submit a disease prevention plan.
環保局人員沿著騎樓仔細噴灑消毒藥劑，台中新光三越百貨傳出有疑似櫃姐確診，業者在大門口貼出公告，11號要進行全館大清消，臉書也有相關訊息，不過都未對外說明原因，但台中市新聞局已經證實，確診的是一名29歲的櫃姐。
台中市新聞局長 黃國瑋表示：「這名確診的29歲女性，她的職業是專櫃人員，那因為她有彰化縣確診親人的接觸史，所以初步懷疑感染來源，是來自於親人的接觸。目前，初步我們匡列的接觸者一共有5人，PCR的檢驗結果都尚待出爐，我們也通知了百貨公司，要自主停業或休館，完成了全面的清消之後，才能再復業。」
新光三越台中店的員工在10號下班前，才緊急接到通知，11號要暫停營業一天進行消毒，而10號閉館後，還有相關人員穿著全套防護衣進入百貨公司內進行消毒，不過櫃姐確診消息，10號就傳出，但台中市政府和百貨業者卻都不對外說明，也讓附近的排班計程車司機相當不滿。
排班計程車司機表示：「昨天下午就知道了啊，傍晚就知道，為什麼市政府到今天早上才發新聞，就覺得很莫名其妙啊！」
而新光三越除了台中店傳出櫃姐確診，在台北的站前店從6月1號開始也有3名櫃姐陸續確診，不過一直到11號才暫停營業進行大消毒，但並未對同樓層其他櫃姐進行快篩，遭到員工質疑，目前台北市勞動檢查處已派員了解處理，也要求新光三越必須回報相關防疫計畫。
