The Japan-Taiwan Exchange Association is holding a series of activities to thank Taiwan for its donations when the 311 earthqauke happened 10 years ago. Association representative Izumi Hiroyasu said Taiwan's actions told the world that simple goodwill is stronger than any force and Japan won't soon forget it.

It has been 10 years since the Tohoku earthquake and tsunami. To thank ROC citizens for their donations of over NT$7 billion at the time, the Japan-Taiwan Exchange Association asked the General Assembly of Chinese Culture to help with a memorial exhibition that opened on the 10th.

We will never forgot that during Japan's darkest days, Taiwan extended a warm hand. Taiwan's actions told the world that simple goodwill is stronger than any strong force.

The association said Japan would never forget what Taiwan did. A tourism promotion association in northeastern Japan also recorded a thank-you video. Members of the search and rescue team that flew to Japan after the earthquake also shared their experiences with exchange students from Japan. Foreign Affairs Minister Wu Jaushieh, meanwhile, said Taiwan and Japan have a special relationship and are always there to help each other when one is in need.

When a certain country inexplicably rejected Taiwanese fruit, the Japanese people immediately headed to the supermarket and purchased Taiwanese fruit off the shelves with their Japanese yen. This heartwarming move will forever be remembered deep in the hearts of Taiwanese people. It also demonstrates the mutual support between two good friends.

Over the weekend, there will be a concert and Yoshitomo Nara exhibition. A music video and memorial single by Fire Ex will also debut.
