Around 2 a.m. (on the 30th), we received the report. Everything was restored by 5:30 a.m.

Trees also fell in Tainan. Fortunately, no one was hurt. A weather expert says the strong winds were caused by the high-pressure cold front currently affecting Taiwan.
This is a high-pressure cold front and the pressure (is what is causing the difference in hot and cold air density).
The Central Weather Bureau issued cold-surge advisories on the 30th along with strong wind advisories for all areas north of Kaohsiung, eastern Taiwan, the Hengchun Peninsula, coastal and open areas, and offshore islands. Coastal areas could also see larger waves than usual.

台中市南屯寶山里長 廖陳淑麗表示：「今天風特別大，我在趕來的路上，風也吹得…都快跌倒。」
花蓮也是受到強風影響。30號凌晨2點，市區民國路、和平路一帶的電纜，疑似被強風吹斷，造成市區194戶停電，台電人員漏夜搶修。
台電花蓮營業處電務經理 江玉順表示：「（30號)凌晨兩點接到通報，在上午5點30分完成復電工作。」
而台東海濱公園的跨年演唱會場地，也被強風追倒帳篷，行道樹也吹倒好幾棵，工作人員趕緊清理。
工作人員表示：「（都沒固定嗎？昨天！) 有呀，綁鐵、綁沙包都有。（還被吹倒？) 對呀！」
另外台南也發生多起路樹倒塌，還好沒有傷到人。氣象專家表示，風勢強勁是受到這波冷高壓影響。
天氣風險管理公司分析師 李承運表示：「（這波寒流)北邊大陸，冷高壓中心強度，它氣壓的高度，氣壓的壓力，是比較大的(造成冷暖空氣密度差)。」
氣象局30號發布陸上強風特報，這波東北風明顯偏強，高雄以北、東半部和恆春半島，沿海空曠地區及外島，容易有9至11級強陣風，沿海及鄰近海域並有較大風浪，提醒民眾要特別注意。
