The first winter snowfall took place today at 8:20am on Jade Mountain with the temperature dropping down to minus 3.1 degrees Celsius. let's take a look!
At 8:20 am on December 21, the first winter snowfall in Taiwan took place on the Jade Mountain. The accumulation has reached 0.5 centimeters with a temperature of minus 3.1 degrees Celsius. The snowfall lasted until 9:50am. The Central Weather Bureau (CWB) said, it is normal to have the first snowfall taking place before December 25.
It is still within the normal range to have the first snowfall before December 25. The first snowfall of this year took place on December 21, which is considered normal. There are still some precipitation in the middle atmosphere above Taiwan before Thursday, therefore there is still a chance to see snowfalls at alpine regions 3500 meters above sea levels before Thursday.
Colleagues from the Paiyun Lodge will provide the newest information on road conditions. Secondly, we still reinforce safety education. Thirdly, we will assist with checking the mountaineering equipment of fellow hikers.

Some hikers were on their way down the Jade Mountain when they encountered the heavy snowfall on the early morning of December 21. The trail was wet and slippery due to the snowfall and posed potential danger to the hikers. The Yushan National Park Headquarters and Visitor Center said some mountain trails were not suitable for hiking activities due to the accumulation of snow. The Headquarters will take a softer approach first and advise the hikers about the dangers.

With the northeast monsoon continuing to affect Taiwan and typhoon Krovanh moving northward, all parts of Taiwan can expect the possibility of rainfalls. The CWB has also issued heavy rain warnings in Keelung Northern Coast, the northeast region and the mountainous areas in Greater Taipei.
玉山21號一早8點20分，降下今年入冬以來的第一場雪，玉山氣象站積雪累計達到0.5公分，氣溫攝氏零下3.1度，降雪持續到9點50分才停止。中央氣象局表示，玉山初雪時間在12月25號前、都算正常。
氣象預報員 朱美霖表示：「在每年的12月25號以前，都算是正常值，所以說，今年的初雪是發生在12月21號，所以也算是一個正常的範圍。在今天一直到週四以前，其實中層的水氣，還是會有一些帶來到台灣上空，所以在3500(公尺)以上的高山區，在週四以前，都有機會觀測到，有可能有降雪的情況。」
21號清晨、有山友登頂下山，正好遇到強降雪，步道濕滑有點危險；玉山管理處指出，雪季期間部分路段受到積雪影響通行，不適合一般性登山活動，會先採柔性勸導，維護登山安全。
玉山國家公園管理處 鍾銘山表示：「排雲山莊的同仁，會提供最新的路況資訊。第二個，會做一些加強安全宣導，透過這些部分，第三個，我們會協助山友裝備的檢查。」
此外，受到東北季風持續影響，加上科羅旺颱風水氣北移，各地都有降雨機率；氣象局針對基隆北海岸、東北部地區及大台北山區，發布大雨特報。
