Company Seeks to Distance Itself from Premier After Praise 被蘇揆點名支持政策 信功肉品駁:不用萊豬

Premier Su Tseng-chang answered questions regarding ractopamine pork during a legislative interpellation. In one of his answers, he specially praised Pingtung-based meat company Sings Kout as a big supporter of the government's policy. The company hurriedly issued a statement saying it has never discussed the issue of ractopamine pork with the premier and stressed it does not use American pork containing ractopamine in its products.
The Tsai Ing-wen administration's unilateral decision to open up Taiwan to imports of meat containing ractopamine continues to create controversy. On Dec. 1, Premier Su Tseng-chang answered questions on this subject from Kuomintang Legislator Chiang Wan-an during a legislative interpellation. In one answer, he specially singled out Pingtung-based meat company Sings Kout. He said he visited the company last week, and added that the company is a great supporter of the government's policy. Sings Kout hurriedly issued a statement in response, which said it didn't raise or discuss the issue of ractopamine pork with Su. It also emphasized that it refuses to use imported American pork containing ractopamine in its products destined for domestic and international markets.
This statement is also an explanation for our customers. The premier did come to attend a ceremony for our export summit meeting, but we neither discussed nor raised any issues related to ractopamine pork.

Yang Min-jui, the general manager of the company, is a Kuomintang Central Standing Committee member and is currently under home isolation. He said what he supports is exporting pork, and criticized Su for deliberating misleading the people. Su had this to say in response.
The meaning behind my words was that Taiwan's hog farmers and meat product exporters are trembling with fear. They very much approve of the government's work to keep African swine fever out and the government's success in making Taiwan free of foot and mouth disease. I wasn't saying that one specific company supports the import of meat products containing ractopamine, so do not misunderstand me.
What Sings Kout stressed was that it entirely conforms to the Council of Agriculture's policies. It only uses domestic pork, and the tested ractopamine residue level is all zero.
The premier claimed that he was talking about the company supporting the government's African swine fever policy and other policies. The KMT was not convinced, and asked why there have been so many Executive Yuan scandals related to this issue, from the beef noodle soup one to this one, that have damaged the reputation of companies. It demanded an apology and an explanation from Su. The KMT also intends to sue Su for violating the Social Order Maintenance Act and Act Governing Food Safety and Sanitation by spreading fake news.
萊豬議題不斷延燒，行政院長蘇貞昌1號在立法院接受國民黨立委蔣萬安質詢相關議題時，特別點名，上週訪視信功肉品公司，信功很支持政府的政策，不過信功晚上立刻發聲明澄清，表示並沒有跟蘇揆談論或提及萊豬議題，更表態堅決不使用進口美國萊豬做為本公司的內外銷產品。
信功肉品總經理 楊旻叡表示：「這個聲明也是對我們客戶的交代，等於說，當時院長是來參加我們的外銷峰會儀式，並沒有去談論到，或者是提及到任何萊豬的事情。」
被蘇揆提到的信功董事長楊博仁，也是國民黨中常委目前正在居家隔離中，接受平面媒體訪問時則表示支持的是豬肉外銷，批評蘇揆故意誤導，面對廠商打臉質疑，蘇揆也出面澄清。
行政院長 蘇貞昌表示：「我所講的意思，就是台灣無論養豬業者、肉品出口業者，都是戰戰兢兢，長年努力，那他們都非常肯定政府，守住非洲豬瘟，政府口蹄疫拔針成功。不是指哪一家公司，支持含萊克多巴胺的肉品進口，不要誤會。」
農委會主委 陳吉仲表示：「信功這邊，他強調的是，他完全配合農委會的政策，全部都是使用國產豬。所有的豬肉，都是萊克多巴胺的零檢出。」
蘇揆強調不要誤會，指的是廠商肯定政府守住非洲豬瘟等政策，現在行政院大動作澄清，國民黨則砲火全開，批評從之前的牛肉麵風波到這次信功，損害商譽的手段太惡劣，要求蘇揆出面道歉澄清，國民黨團也將正式提告蘇貞昌違反社維法和食安法，散布假消息。
