Yet another case of domestic dengue fever was reported in Kaohsiung City last night. Authorities believe it's part of a second wave of cluster infections. Meanwhile, a chief of a neighboring borough in Fongshan District questioned the city's prevention efforts. He said he was told that the military had scheduled to sterilize the area but they actually never did. The supervisor of the district said it's only because he was misinformed.
Another case of domestic dengue fever has been confirmed in Sanmin District, which is the center of this year's outbreak. There have been 21 confirmed domestic cases so far this year. The Centers of Disease Control believes the latest case is part of a second wave of cluster infections.
Sanitation workers have been disinfecting affected areas, but it is up to local officials to apply for disinfection. With the outbreak spreading, Fongshan District is on high alert due to its proximity to Sanmin District. The chief of Fongshan's Guoguang Borough says the military was supposed to disinfect the borough but never showed up.
Disinfection has been suspended in all 76 of Fongshan District's boroughs. Our residents are now kind of at a loss.

The borough chief says the interruption of disinfection work shows the city government is not taking the situation seriously enough. In response, the district supervisor says he is the one at fault.

The supervisor says he already updated borough chiefs on the current situation and he doesn't know why one of them decided to hold a press conference. The city government, meanwhile, says the military will start disinfection once times and dates are confirmed.

防治登革熱，清潔隊人員沿著街道噴藥，但這次噴藥的範圍是小區域，這是鳳山的國光里長之前申請的小範圍病媒蚊防治，但疫情升溫，鳳山區緊鄰三民區，又有病例發生，里長指控，本來說好國軍協助全區噴藥卻突然停止。
高雄市鳳山區國光里長 呂岳霖表示：「全鳳山區76里，暫緩實施做熱噴，那現在變成說，變成讓我們的市民，我們的里民有點就是，無所適從。」
當地居民表示：「現在正在嚴重時你不來噴藥，下雨之後不來噴藥，現在等於都沒有用了。」
民進黨高雄市議員 林志鴻表示：「任意的更改噴藥的作為，你們到底把高雄市民的健康放在哪裡？」
基層質疑，市府不重視防疫，因為里長接獲區長通知，早已告知全鳳山里民要噴藥，但卻臨時喊停，對此，區長回應，是他訊息掌握錯誤。
高雄市鳳山區長 施維明表示：「聽聞有(國軍噴藥)這樣子的可能性，就趕快透過我們區級的防疫團隊，請南北兩個清潔隊，趕快去做一些初步的配合作業。」
區長說已跟里長們解釋過原因，不明白為何還是有人出面開記者會，而市府也強調，國軍沒有不協助，只是要確定時程，只要一敲定時間，就會立刻執行。
