Taiwanese computer manufacturer Asus' growth has stagnated in recent years, and there has been a lot of movement among upper-level executives. Following a board of directors meeting on the afternoon of Dec. 13, Asus CEO Jerry Shen officially announcing his resignation. He will be handing the baton to two co-CEOs, S.Y. Hsu and Samson Hu. Experts and scholars say Asus is facing a transition and its co-CEOs will focus on innovation and research and development in the future.

"Wonder Woman" star Gal Gadot became Asus' new spokesperson earlier this year. The company has performed poorly in recent years and there has been a lot of management turnover. Following a board meeting on the 13th, CEO Jerry Shen announced his resignation. Vice presidents S.Y. Hsu and Samson Hu will be promoted to co-CEOs on Jan. 1.

We think the best thing to do is implementing team-style management. Jerry Shen decided to hand the CEO baton to S.Y. (Hsu) and Samson Hu.

Shen says he will launch his own artificial Internet of Things company to bring new tech trends to Asus. Analysts say a co-CEO system is necessary given the rapid growth and development of the industry in recent years.

How quickly they move on this policy may fail to meet expectations. On the flip side, they may have an advantage because they will probably consider more aspects and layers.

Asus has failed to meet expectations in recent years, with revenues falling 10 percent in the third quarter on-year to NT$ 93.8 billion. Its board has approved a one-time allocation of NT$ 6.2 billion for a mobile strategy revamp and analysts are expecting the company to be in the red in the fourth quarter.

In the face of competition from Chinese brands, Asus has no way to meet profit projections in the phone market. The company will have to adjust its direction in the future.

Analysts say the revamp should start as soon as possible given long-term losses. Asus says its priority will be artificial intelligence moving forward. Company executives hope the latest management shakeup and new strategic transformation plan will help Asus survive in a globally competitive industry.
