R.O.C. Celebrates National Day with Performances, Parades|國慶"2018台灣共好" 燈塔守護者領唱國歌

Over 400 guests, including leaders of 3 allied nations attended the 2018 National Day celebrations. The parade was led by 60 Asian Games athletes, the highlight is the aerial performance by Mirage 2000 jet fighters, which flew in front of the Presidential building. In addition to the national anthem, songs by rock band "Mayday" were also performed, to cater to the taste of younger generation and show the diverse culture on the island.
The Air Force deployed Mirage 2000 jet fighters to celebrate the founding of the Republic of China. The five jets flew in a wild geese formation from west to east over the Presidential Office. The roar of the engines filled the air, capturing everyone's attention.
This year, the national anthem was performed by six lighthouse keepers. They were accompanied by a 40-member National Defense University student choir.
Minhe Junior High School's Juann Choir, which is made up of indigenous students, also participated in the celebration.
The military police's special reaction team performed drills in front of the Presidential Office on 54 heavy-duty motorcycles. At one point, they formed the shape of a heart to symbolize the unity of the nation.
The theme of the 2018 National Day celebrations was "Taiwan Together," which is meant to convey Taiwan's harmonious multiethnic culture. The Joint Military Marching Band performed songs by rock group Mayday, including "Love-ing" and "Best Day of My Life," showing the influence of young people on the military.
The celebrations also included a parade for Chinese Taipei's Asian Games athletes. Sixty athletes celebrated their success with the public, with many interacting with the crowds. Meanwhile, this year's National Day logo was very unique. It is an animated logo, and the different colors of the circle represent different ethnic groups.
