SEF Chair invites arats President to visit Kinmen / 我向對岸釋善意 田弘茂邀陳德銘訪金門　　　　　　　　　　

As President Tsai Ing-wen seeks to resolve the current impasse across the Taiwan Strait, Straits Exchange Foundation Chairman Tien Hung-mao stressed on January 18, that Taiwan will continue to extend the kind gesture of bringing institutional exchanges back on track. He openly invited Chen Deming, his Mainland counterpart, to visit Kinmen. He said that an official invitation is being considered. Maybe in Kinmen as a start. I hope that China will consider taking up on this offer. Tien stated that he invited Chen to visit Kinmen because this is where the mini three links connect the two sides. When asked whether the Foundation will propose a new interpretation to the One-China principle, Tien stressed that President Tsai has made a very clear statement that can serve as a solid foundation for future cross-strait exchanges. He believed that the two sides will be able to reconnect.
