Indigenous groups protest lack of respect in apology / 府外陳情多 盼總統傾聽所有原民聲音　　　　　　　　　　

Yesterday, President Tsai Ing-wen officially apologized to Taiwan's indigenous people on behalf of the government. But indigenous groups protested that the representatives Tsai met with were unilaterally chosen. They demanded that she listen to the voices of all indigenous people. During the protest, scuffles took place with police. On the first ever Indigenous People's Day designated by the new government as Aug 1, President Tsai Ing-wen made an official apology to indigenous people on behalf of the government. Many indigenous groups came to protest outside the Presidential Office, asking the government to place importance on indigenous lands. Some had walked for 30 days from the east coast. They criticized that the representatives that the government had chosen to make its official apology to, were not representative of the whole and varied indigenous population.
