The committee thinks that the Women's League followed the KMT's instructions while Soong Mei-ling took the main role in leading the League. ==CHU YEN-TING Investigation team, Ill-gotten Party Assets Settlement Committee==　 Although the Women's League and the Women's Affairs Association were not affiliated, they had close ties with each other under the leadership of Soong Mei-ling. They followed the KMT's instructions. The Women's League said that although Soong set up the league in 1950, it was not until 1955 that she was in charge of the league. The Women's League even cited information provided by the committee and pointed out that Soong had no interest in politics, according to her speech in 1955. She was unwilling to join the league. Soong accepted her job at the league only because her husband, Chiang Kai-shek, asked her to do so. The Women's League emphasized that it neither followed the KMT's instructions nor was under the KMT's control. ==SHEN CHENG-HSIUNG lawyer== The investigation report regarded Soong Mei-ling as the KMT itself. Also, it considered the KMT to benefit the Women's League since it holds power over the Ministry of Defense, the Ministry of Finance, and the Ministry of Social Affairs at that time. However, the committee had no evidence to prove how the KMT made use of its administrative advantage to benefit the league. We can only say that it is easy to find a stick to beat a dog. ==LI FU-HSUAN Vice Chairperson, KMT Administration Committee== KMT never had any control over the Women's League's personnel, finance or businesses. No document can show this. If the Ill-gotten Party Assets Settlement Committee holds that the Women's League is KMT-affiliated, then it may impose an administrative penalty on the League by the end of August to freeze its property. The committee will further discuss about recovering illegal benefits. The Women's League accused the committee of having already made up its mind even before it started its investigation.
