Taipei City Mayor-elect Chiang Wan-an visited with Taipei City Mayor Ko Wen-je on Dec. 5 to discuss the transition and handover of 24 major projects. Ko reminded Chiang to exercise fiscal discipline.
On the 5th, Chiang Wan-an and his campaign staff visited with Taipei City Mayor Ko wen-je to discuss the transition. Ko says the handover will follow a "project management" format and includes 24 major projects including Taipei Dome. Ko also reminded Chiang of the importance of fiscal discipline.
Ko Wen-je, Taipei City Mayor: “We have repaid NT$57 billion in these eight years and processed NT$22.7 billion in contested labor and health insurance funds. Our internal fund has also reduced its debt by NT$10 billion. Second, we were able to reduce our interest payments to NT$400 million last year but the U.S. raising rates this year alone may increase our interest payments to over NT$900 million.”
Chiang has appointed lawmaker Lin Yi-hua as the convener of his transition team. Observers say possible candidates for Chiang's mini-Cabinet include former Taipei City Deputy Mayor Ou Chin-der; former Kaohsiung City Deputy Mayor Lee Shu-chuan; and former KMT City Councilor Wang Hao.
Chiang Wan-an, Taipei City Mayor-elect: “What I care about most are professionalism, character, and merit and I will stay true to these principles. You'll have to wait a while longer, but you won't be disappointed.”
Chiang also said he sees Ko as an important advisor and mentor, and hopes Ko will attend the New Year's Eve countdown with him.
Chiang Wan-an, Taipei City Mayor-elect: “I hope Mayor Ko will be at the New Year's Eve countdown with me and bear witness to Taipei surviving the epidemic. And ring in the New Year.”
Ko Wen-je, Taipei City Mayor: “As you well know, my preference is to spend New Year's Eve either reading at home or sleeping. If I weren't mayor, I wouldn't step out of my house. (Celebrating) is more my son's thing, and he wouldn't ask me to go with him.”
It looks like Chiang will be counting down without Ko at this side his New Year's Eve.
交流市政交接，蔣萬安率立委林奕華等團隊成員首次拜會柯市府，商討交接事宜。柯文哲說，交接原則上採PM制，包含府級和局對局的交接，包括小巨蛋等24重大交接案件，還提醒蔣萬安做好財政紀律。
台北市長柯文哲表示：「這8年來我們大概還了570億，也處理掉227億的勞健保爭議款，內部基金大概也減債100億，欠債是要還的，第二，欠債是要繳利息的，我算一算我們去年的利息降到4億多，不過今年因為美國升息，財政局給我報告，有可能單單今年的利息就會超過9億。」
蔣萬安指派林奕華擔任交接小組召集人，掌握後續交接進度。外界關注小內閣人選布局，包含前台北市副市長歐晉德、前高雄市副市長李四川及未參選連任的國民黨市議員王浩都被點名是可能人選，不過蔣萬安仍未鬆口。
台北市長當選人蔣萬安表示：「用人的原則就是專業、品格、用人唯才，我也會持續堅持這樣的原則，在整個徵詢作業進行當中來廣納人才，飯要煮好，甚至要等久一點再鍋蓋掀開，飯才會香。」
蔣萬安強調，柯文哲會是他市政上的重要顧問，還邀柯文哲參加跨年晚會。
台北市長當選人蔣萬安表示：「希望柯市長能夠與我在跨年晚會上與市民共同倒數，見證台北挺過疫情還有迎接新的年度的時刻。」
台北市長柯文哲表示：「我跟你講，我每年跨年晚會不是在家裡讀書就是在家裡睡覺，要不是當市長，根本就不會來，只是我兒子才會參加，我怎麼會來參加，盡量不要找我。」
只是熱情邀約似乎柯文哲不太領情。
