Taiwan People's Party Chairperson Ko Wen-je and legislator-at-large nominee Huang Ching-ying ride a campaign vehicle and appeal to the public to vote for the TPP on the political party ballot as the vehicle travels through Changhua County's Hemei Township. Ko was asked about reports that Yang Hui-ju, who is under investigation for paying an Internet army to influence public opinion, applied for subsidies from the central government and from the Taipei City Government. He said his remarks are based on evidence, and expressed his hope that the central government will cooperate with the investigation.
What evidence there is and what it says will be handed over to investigators for processing. This is the equivalent of me throwing out a ball. The Taipei City Government will hand over everything it has. The issue that remains is that she applied for money from many central government entities, so we'll see if these central government entities are willing to hand over what information they have. That will make comparisons easier.
Ko said Yang duplicated her subsidy applications to the Taipei City Government and central government, so related informations need to be compared to be verified. He has already asked the city government to quickly compile related documents, and send them to investigators as well as to the Taipei City Council for a report. Ko was also asked about Foxconn Group founder Terry Gou, who has been cozying up to the People First Party as of late.
We were always going to take our own paths. If there are times when Chairman Gou comes to help us out, we will consider it as a bonus. This is the safest approach we can take. In other words, we rely on ourselves, and any additional assistance is a bonus.
Ko said the TPP is taking its own path, and he considers it a bonus for Gou to help out. This is the safest approach he can take, as well as the most uncomplicated approach.
