NORTH KOREA REPORTEDLY LAUNCHES CYBERWAR ON GLOBAL BANKS|北韓駭客攻擊全球銀行 金管會:台無受害跡象

Taiwanese authorities responded to media reports that local banks are among the targets of North Korea's cyber warfare, saying that no banks have been attacked so far and stressing that the island is well-prepared in the event of an attack. It is reported that North Korean hackers are going to launch cyber-attacks on banks around the world. As Taiwan is said to be one of their targets, many are wondering how the government is going to deal with the issue. The Criminal Investigation Bureau said that so far, no cases of cyber-attacks on financial institutions have been reported. Chen said that Taiwan is susceptible to attacks from North Korea because Taiwan's well-developed information technology industry and large network bandwidth serves as a springboard for attacks on South Korea. In most cases, there are political motivations behind North Korea's cyber-attacks targeting South Korea government departments, banks, and media. Stealing money from banks is not their goal.
