MANDARIN AIRLINES TAKE HOLIDAY DAY-OFF AFTER NEGOTIATION FAILED|談判破裂 華信工會決定中秋集體休假

The labor union of China Airlines' subsidiary, Mandarin Airlines, has negotiated with the company and asked to be paid the same as China Airlines' employees. After two hours of negotiation, they didn't reach an agreement. In response, Mandarin Airlines' labor union decided to take a day off collectively on the Moon Festival. They also plan to go on a legal strike on New Year's Eve.
Members of Mandarin Airlines' labor union held a press conference prior to the negotiation. They demanded 6 points, including pay parity with China Airlines' employees. According to a Mandarin Airlines pilot, there's a NT$1 million gap in pilot pay. Flight attendants get paid 40% less than at China Airlines.

Today we are not begging. We are not asking for money. We are not asking for small change. We want a real reform of Mandarin Airlines.
After two hours of negotiation, neither side reached agreement. They didn't even reach a consensus on the first demand about equal pay. There are 580 people in the labor union, over 300 have agreed to take a day off on the Moon Festival. They are also planning to go on a legal strike.

China Airlines should look at the way Uni Air and TransAsia Airways operate and improve our working conditions.
According to Mandarin Airlines, they will complete negotiations regarding double pay on national holidays as well as bonuses and pay rises by the end of this year. They hope to discuss these issues further with the labor union.

但經過兩個小時的協商,雙方還是沒有共識,工會所提出的6項訴求,光是第一項同工同酬就談判破裂,剩下的根本就無法談下去,目前有580人加入工會,其中300多位簽署拒絕國定假日挪移,將在中秋節集體合法休假,也會啟動罷工程序,元旦進行合法罷工。

華信航空表示,在年底前將協商完成簽訂團體協約、國定例假日給付雙倍薪資、支付補貼制服洗滌費用,以及部份津貼的合理幅度之調升,希望再和工會溝通。
