HEAVY RAIN CAUSES LANDSLIDE ON SOUTHERN CROSS-ISLAND HIGHWAY|桃源山區再降大雨 南橫公路土石崩落

Torrential rain has devastated Kaohsiung's Tauyuan District. The foundations for the southern cross-island highway also slipped along some stretches. The landslide also occurred yesterday afternoon around the same section. The Directorate General of Highways announced the road will be blocked during the evening as a precaution measure. For the sake of safety reason, we will temporarily block the passage at 8 pm. ==HSIEH YING-HSIUNG Supervisor, Tauyuan Dist., Kaohsiung City== Due to days of rain, today we also invite our borough chief to come, dialysis patients, women, children and seniors should retreat to a safer shelter, and live with relatives. In order not to affect farmers' work, the road is open in the day time but closed in the night time. The road may resume its traffic flows by June 15.Ten houses in Chin-ho Borough were washed away by creek water. The district office also prepares food of one to 20 days. Borough chief said that ever since Typhoon Morakot caused serious damages in 2009, local residents have learned taking safety measures. Although there were intermittent heavy rains, residents will retreat to safe zone when evening comes. TRANSLATED BY: ANTHONY LIN 關心豪大雨消息，高雄桃源山區，在上一波鋒面時，降雨量最多，導致南橫公路92公里處，路基掏空，一度中斷，今天下午當地再度下起間歇性大雨，同個路段又有大量土石崩落，擔心入夜雨量更大，公路單位宣布，晚間將預警性封路，勤和里民也撤往安全區域。高雄市政府剛剛也宣佈，桃源區樟山國小明天停止上班、上課。 土石不斷從山上滾落，現場是南橫公路92公里處，月初才因為暴漲溪水淘空道路，當地交通中斷，路才剛搶通，現在又有鋒面來。 ==公路局第三區養護工程處長 林清洲== 面臨了兩問題 一個是河流的攻擊 一個是我們上面在坍方 那我們用戒護通行 讓部落的備糧 跟農產品可以出來 今天晚上為了安全起見 我們會暫時預警性封閉 預定(晚間)8點 ==高雄市桃源區長 謝英雄== 因爲持續的下豪雨 那我今天也請 我們的後山的里長 希望我們今天的這個 洗腎的病患 老弱婦女 先撤下山 避難跟依親 為了不影響農民生計，白天先開放通行，入夜後，該路段預警性封路，15號視狀況放行。而月初勤和里十戶民宅也被溪水沖毀，下午已經有民眾先撤往山上的避難平臺。 ==勤和里民== 如果那個雨水達到2-300毫米 就自己上來了 那我們平常都在這邊工作嘛 就買那一大包的米 （一次大概幾天的份量) 差不多半個月 ==高市勤和里長 柯文龍== 里民上來前都看氣象報告 所以自己會預備 一到兩個禮拜的食材這樣子 大概公所這邊 也會備個1到20天糧食這樣子 里長說88風災後，里民防災觀念都很健全，雖然目前山區是間歇性大雨，但為了安全，晚上就會要求里民全部撤到安全區域。 記者 王柔婷 陳顯坤 高雄報導
