Local airline Starlux Airlines received a telephone bomb threat on Jan. 2.
Airport personnel received a threatening phone call before a Starlux flight from Taipei to Narita International Airport in Tokyo took off. The caller told them to "prepare the money" or else they would "detonate the bomb aboard the Starlux flight." The flight took off after a 90-minute delay. After it landed and the passengers disembarked, the Japanese police searched the aircraft. They did not find any suspicious items.
