Taipei Mayoral Race: Chiang No. 6, Huang No. 8, Chen No. 12 北市長選舉 蔣萬安6號.黃珊珊8號.陳時中12號

With the nine-in-one elections just a little over a month away, 12 Taipei City mayoral candidates drew their election numbers on Oct. 21. KMT's Chiang Wan-an is number 6, independent candidate Vivian Huang is number 8, while DPP candidate Chen Shih-chung is number 12.

“Double-Six, Auspicious Taipei. Triple-Eight, ｗealthy Taipei. All 12 Districts of Taipei support Chen Shih-chung.”

Corresponding to the numbers drawn, each campaign recites their own good-luck mottos. For the nine-in-one elections at the end of the year, the Taipei City mayoral election consists of 12 registered candidates, the most number of people in years. KMT candidate Chiang Wan-an, DPP's Chen Shih-chung and Non-partisan candidate Vivian Huang all arrived early on Oct. 21 to personally draw from the lots. However, the pan-blue camp still focuses on the NT$600 Million price discrepancy between government procurement price of Medigen vaccine and the price disclosed by Medigen, insisting that Chen Shih-chung must explain and clarify; or else it will file a suit in accordance with the law.

Chen Shih-chung, DPP Taipei City Mayoral Candidate: “Regarding the relevant costs, I believe the accountant or the auditing department, as well as the Ministry of Health and Welfare, will certainly clarify. I think he did explain yesterday. ”

As the countdown to the elections draws near, tactical voting issue continues to ferment. Former Taipei City Deputy Mayor Teng Chia-chi, who is of People First Party affiliation, declared his support of Chiang Wan-an when he stood by a pan-blue city councilor on Oct. 20 in support of his candidacy, which triggered the public's imagination that the "orange-white grudge" has emerged again.

Chiang Wan-an, KMT Taipei City Mayoral Candidate: “I will continue to work harder and will not disappoint Deputy Mayor Teng's support, hoping that I can have the chance to lead Taipei to a better future. At the same time I will for sure seek advice from Deputy Mayor Teng from time to time.”

Vivian Huang, Non-partisan Taipei City Mayoral Candidate: “Do not need to overthink this. We just need to strive for everyone's support but no need to label people. Teng Chia-chi's action in that occasion is understandable. Everyone has everyone's position. The most important aspect is still the candidate him or herself.”

Vivian Huang noted that she will not interpret based on one single event. Everyday she seeks to earn recognition and approval from as many citizens as possible. Dwelling on tactical voting disregards people's intelligence as most voters are without color.  

 

「六六大順！台北出運！」「八八八！台北發發發！」「台北十二區！全挺陳時中！」對應號碼，各陣營喊出吉祥話，年底九合一大選，台北市長部分共有12人登記參選，是歷來人數最多的一次。國民黨候選人蔣萬安、民進黨陳時中、無黨籍黃珊珊今（21）日一早都親自參加抽籤。但藍營仍緊咬，政府採購高端疫苗價格與高端揭露的價格價差超過6億元，點名陳時中講清楚，否則將依法提出告訴。

民進黨候選人陳時中表示：「相關的價格，我想不管是主計或審計那邊，還有我們的衛福部，應該都會把它講清楚，好像他昨天有出來說明了。」

選戰倒數，棄保話題持續發酵，具有親民黨籍的前台北市副市長鄧家基，昨日替藍營市議員站台時，表態力挺蔣萬安，也引發外界聯想，橘白心結再度浮上檯面。

國民黨候選人蔣萬安表示：「我會持續的加倍努力，也絕對不會辜負鄧副市長對我的支持，未來有機會，帶領台北市越來越好，也會找時間，不時地向鄧副市長請益。」

無黨籍候選人黃珊珊則回應：「不用去聯想過多，我們就是要爭取每個人的支持，但是不需要去把人家貼標籤，（鄧家基）他在那個場合無可厚非吧，每個人都有每個人的立場，所以最重要是候選人自己。」

至於是否憂心泛藍棄保發酵，黃珊珊也表示，不會因為一個事件就做這樣解讀，每天都在爭取最多的市民認同，如果還是回到棄保，就是忽略人民智慧，大部分選民都是沒有顏色的。
