Man Who Killed Two Police Officers Indicted 台南殺警案偵結 檢依殺人罪起訴林嫌

Two Tainan police officers were killed on Aug. 22 by a suspect surnamed Lin they were chasing for stealing a scooter. The Tainan District Prosecutors Office charged Lin with homicide on Sept. 7 after concluding their investigation into the case.

The indictment said that the defendant inflicted severe injuries on the two police officers and left them lying on the ground, showing no mercy whatsoever for the dying police officers. He also stole a gun and fled. Lin, who is currently in detention, was charged with homicide, theft, robbery, escape, and violations of the Controlling Guns, Ammunition and Knives Act, and will be prosecuted.

台南地檢署7日全案偵查終結，起訴書強調被告將警員凃明誠和曹瑞傑殺害殺成重傷倒地後，竟未對垂死之2人存有一絲一毫之憐憫，還奪槍而去，涉案林姓凶嫌涉犯本案乃情節最重大之罪。因此依殺人、竊盜、強盜、脫逃及違反槍砲彈藥刀械管制條例等罪嫌，將羈押中的林姓凶嫌提起公訴。
