SPARKLE PATISSERIE FINED NT$1M FOR VIOLATIONS OF LABOR LAW|永采烘焙坊遭重罰百萬 昨貼出歇業公告

A restaurant in Taichung, which recently succumbed to ill fame after its unreasonable demands of its employees were revealed, has been fined NT$ 1 million by the Ministry of Labor over 5 violations of the Labor Standards Act. Following the debacle, the owner has decided to pull the plug on the business for now.
The Sparkle Patisserie in Taichung has been accused of intentionally underpaying interns, the owner said that those interns failed following rules when quitting job and asked interns for a compensation of NT$590,000. The Taichung City Government Labor Affairs Bureau investigated and found the patisserie owner violated five articles of the Labor Standards Act, and the Bureau fined the owner NT$1 million.

The patisserie was fined in 2013 for not paying overtimes. Based on the documents and evidences we have, the owner seriously violated five articles in the Labor Standards Act. We reviewed the accusations against the owner and evidences we have, we decided to fine the patisserie owner the maximum amount of NT$1 million.
The violations were: overcut wages, not paying for overtimes, the overtime exceeded 46 hours every month, no one rest day after every seven working days, hourly pays not doubled for working on national holidays. The aforementioned violations plus the owner involved with several labor disputes since 2012, therefore the Bureau fined the patisserie owner the maximum.

Unless the patisserie owner changes his behavior and attitude, otherwise same thing will happen, labors who work there get exploited.
The Sparkle Patisserie owner made no further comment about the fine, the store posted a closure notice in the afternoon of Feb. 26. One intern's mother said the NT$1 million fine is reasonable, she believes there are many worse work places for interns that are not yet exposed, interns are not cheap labors, she suggests the central and local governments should look into relevant matters for interns.

台中市勞工局表示,調查發現業者溢扣工資、加班未給加班費、每月加班超過46小時、七天未給一天休假、國定假日未給加倍工資,嚴重違反五項勞基法規定,加上業者從101年開始已經有多次勞資爭議,所以給予重罰。

否則進去的勞工還是一樣
還是會被他剝削啊
對於遭重罰100萬元,無法取得業者的回應,但店面下午已經貼出歇業公告,而王媽媽認為100萬的處罰相當合理,但她也表示,還有許多實習的惡劣工作環境未曝光,實習生並非廉價勞工,中央政府和學校都應該要替學生做好把關。
