NANTOU LANDSLIDES LEAD TO EVACUATIONS|南投國姓山坡地大崩塌 居民緊急撤離

The recent spate of rain continues to wreak havoc. In Nantou, some 50 residents had to be evacuated after nearly 300 millimeters of rain over the past weekend triggered a large-scale landslide. A large area of the mountainside was involved in the landslide, leaving rubble about one hundred meters high. The access road above the area of landslide was severely cracked and water continued to pour along the crack. It looks like the whole slope fell. The FB said it was making an emergency inspection and taking aerial video all around the sites, to spot the cause and offer solutions. The local administrative office said it had notified 30 households that there may be further landslides and they should be ready to evacuate at any time.
