Inspectors in Taichung received tip-offs that a seafood company is changing expiration labels. They visited the warehouse and found 12 tons of frozen abalone and other seafood with erroneous labels, which have been ordered to sealed off, preventing them from being sold.
The Taichung City Health Bureau found that the original expiration date was April-May 2017, but the labels had been changed to read May 2018. It is now investigating whether there are other out of date products from the company which have already found their way into the market.
