Over the 228 holiday the Directorate General of Highways will give the incentive of toll-free driving overnight and will impose high vehicle occupancy controls on National Freeway No. 5. It estimates the congestion during the holiday period on National Freeway 5 for example, from Toucheng to Pinglin will be 7.4 times more than usual. It hopes that through this advance notice, travelers can make plans and change their routes or travel times ahead of time. On National Freeway No. 3, starting from the evening of Feb. 27 to Feb. 28, there will be traffic congestion northbound. From Longtan to Yingge, it will take three times as long as usual. On National Freeway No. 5, from the second day of the holiday after 3 PM, roads going north will be congested until 11 PM at night. It estimates that from Toucheng to Pinglin, it will take 111 minutes or 7.4 times the usual time.
