Philippine's new president Duterte delivered his first State of the Nation speech. He vowed to exterminate all drug lords and narcotics in the Philippines. Duterte also said that he would prioritize economic reforms, infrastructure development and the improvement government efficiency. He also announced a unilateral ceasefire against Maoist rebels, aiming to end the 45-year long rebellion in southern Philippines. Philippine President Duterte made his first State of the Nation address in the senate on July 25th. Thousands of people marched on streets with banners to show supports to Duterte. This is rarely seen in Philippine politics. ==Duterte supporters== Duterte！Duterte！ In his election campaign, Duterte vowed to punish criminals and crackdown on drug lords. Within a month of his presidency, police had killed over two hundred drug dealers, that is an average of 11 people per day. Next month his administration will join a peace negotiation with various groups, aiming to end the 45-year long rebellion in the southern Philippines. The conflicts caused 120,000 deaths and two million people to be displaced. The new president also promised to prioritize economic reforms, infrastructure development and boost government efficiency.
