Drivers still need to pay attention to traffic regulations. Last year, a driver was fined NT$1,200 for overtaking two scooters at a time. He refused to accept the fine and filed an administrative lawsuit. However, the court ruled against him.
Many people drove out in their cars during the good weather on the last day of the holiday. However, they must pay attention to traffic regulations when driving. For example, most drivers may not know that if they overtake two vehicles at a time, they will receive a fine between NT$1,200 and NT$2,400.
Citizen: “Sometimes you need to overtake and you just do it. Just don't overtake it maliciously.”
Citizen: “I don't think this is reasonable. Overtaking is normal. Because you know sometimes the car ahead is moving slowly so how can you not overtake?”
According to Article 47 of the Road Traffic Management and Penalty Act, in addition to not being able to overtake two vehicles in a row, overtaking is also strictly prohibited when passing through curves, steep slopes, and tunnels. In addition, the same is true in schools, hospitals, or other areas where there are no overtaking signs. A driver was reported in 2022 for overtaking two motorcycles at one time. He filed an administrative lawsuit, but the court ruled that he lost the case.

Most people have never heard of the penalty rules that are not often used by the police. Scholars believe there should be more public education so that there will be no controversy when penalties are issued.
Li Ke-tsung, Convener, Transportation Committee, Consumers' Foundation: “We want to maintain an even traffic flow, which can then increase our traffic efficiency. Many people do not yet know this new regulation, so we need more public education.”
Overtaking is inevitable if a driver encounters a slow-moving car on the road. Scholars said that the key point is that a driver needs to maintain a certain speed to avoid creating opportunities for others to overtake and increase the driver's own risk.
連假最後一天，天氣晴朗，不少民眾開車出門透透氣，不過開車時得要留心一些交通條例，像是多數駕駛人可能不曉得，超車如果一次連超兩輛就會吃上罰單，可處1200元到2400元罰鍰。
民眾說：「有時候需要超車就超車，只是不能惡意超車啦。」
其他民眾認為：「這個我覺得不大合理，超車是很正常的，因為你有時候龜速車在那邊，你不超車怎麼可以。」
依照道交條例第47條規定，除了不能連超兩輛車，行經彎道、陡坡、隧道也嚴禁超車，另外在學校、醫院或其他設有禁止超車標誌的地段也同樣禁止。有民眾去（2022）年開車一次超車2輛機車被檢舉，因為不服提起行政訴訟，但法院判他敗訴。
新店分局交通分隊小隊長徐瑞樟指出：「依違反《道路交通管理處罰條例》第47條第一項第二款舉發，裁處罰鍰新台幣1200元並記違規點數1點。」
權責單位不常使用到的罰則，多數民眾也第一次聽到，學者認為應該要多加宣導，才不會開罰時出現爭議。
消基會交通委員會召集人李克聰表示：「主要是因為我們希望保持一個均勻的車流，然後可以增加我們的交通效率，很多民眾目前還不知道這樣子新的規定，我們必須多加宣導。」
如果路上遇到龜速車，超車在所難免，學者表示重點還是駕駛人需要保持一定車速，避免造成他人超車機會，增加自己的風險。
