Su Tseng-chang and the Cabinet have resigned en masse, with Chen Chien-jen replacing him as premier.
Outgoing Premier Su Tseng-chang posed for a final photo with Cabinet members before the Cabinet resigned en masse on the 30th. On the 31st, Chen Chien-jen will assume the premier post. The top three national security officials in the government did not change, with Chiu Kuo-cheng staying put as national defense minister, Joseph Wu staying put as foreign affairs minister, and Chiu Tai-san staying put as mainland affairs minister. Chiu says he will continue pushing for military service reforms and maintain President Tsai Ing-wen's cross-Strait diplomacy path.
Chiu Tai-san, Mainland Affairs Minister: “(The Straits Exchange Foundation) finally has a new chair. So, you can see that the president, she values stability.”
Joseph Wu, Foreign Affairs Minister: “Continue -- we will continue working. Thank you.”
Chiu Kuo-cheng, National Defense Minister: “At this stage, I have reported (to the president). We will continue working towards the goal we set previously.”
The Kuomintang is pushing the new Cabinet to investigate the Medigen corruption case. Health and Welfare Minister Hsueh Jui-yuan, who is at the center of the scandal, is not happy about this.
Hsueh Jui-yuan, Health and Welfare Minister: “I work hard. That's all. When you have two teams playing against one another, you don't get to pick who plays for the other team at any given time.”
The top officials at the Central Epidemic Command Center also remain unchanged. There are rumors Centers for Disease Control Director-General Chou Jih-haw may be promoted to deputy health and welfare minister and he may be replaced by his deputy, Chuang Jen-hsiang. Hsueh says no decisions will be made before Feb. 3.

陸委會主委邱太三說道：「（海基會也終於有這個董事長）所以啊你可以看出來，總統她是在穩中求穩。」
外交部長吳釗燮表示：「我們繼續工作，謝謝。」
國防部長邱國正提及：「這個階段我也跟她（總統）報告，我們會持續把以前訂的目標在這一年當中把它給落實。」
在野黨批評新內閣是派系分贓，立法院國民黨團也質疑準閣揆陳建仁上任後，要不要查高端弊案？對爭議的衛福部長薛瑞元留任，表達不滿。
衛福部長薛瑞元指出：「就是努力做事情就是這個樣子，兩個球隊比賽沒有說，上場的球員是由對方指定的。」
指揮中心的防疫五月天全部留任，傳出疾管署長周志浩將升任衛福部次長，疾管署副署長莊人祥則升任署長，不過薛瑞元表示人事還沒有定案，最快要等週五才會討論。
