To celebrate the New Year, Hsinchu City held a flag-raising ceremony at its city hall square. Apart from dancing and marching band performances, five Mirage 2000 fighter jets were invited to glide in formation across the sky above the city hall for the third consecutive year.


To welcome the New Year, the air force brought five Mirage 2000 fighter jets to fly across the sky above the Hsinchu City Hall. Every year, to celebrate New Year's Day, the Hsinchu City government holds a flag-raising ceremony at the city hall square. This year, it also included the aerobatics demonstration and the marching band performance.

This year is also the third consecutive year that the organizers managed to invite the Mirage 2000 fighter jets to perform. The crowds were ecstatic, and even included visitors from Macau.

Every year I gather my friends together. We take group photos and count down together, it is a very happy day. (How do you feel about seeing the Mirage 2000?) Super excited! I feel we were very, very close to it. When we saw it come at us like this, everybody was so excited.

Our kid was born on New Year's Day. (So is that why you are attending the flag-raising ceremony?) Yes. This day also happens to be our child's birthday. (Are you very happy?) Very happy indeed! (There are so many people celebrating for her together.) Yes! It is also a novelty for us to see the Mirage 2000 perform.

To ensure a successful performance, the second air-wing of the Air Force made full preparations which included making sure that all parts of the aircraft were functioning properly. In the end, the aerobatics demonstrations were perfect.



五架由空軍所帶來的幻象2000戰機，低空飛過新竹市政府上空，為了慶祝元旦，新竹市每年都會在廣場前舉辦升旗典禮，除了有幻象戰機衝場外，稍早前還有儀隊帶來精采的表演。

這已經是連續3年，在升旗典禮上請到幻象戰機，還有從澳門來的朋友，特地來到現場參加，直呼過癮。

民眾表示：「每一年都會帶我的朋友來，跟大家一起合照，一起過新年快樂， 是一個很開心的日子。 (看到幻象)超興奮的，可以很近很近，看到幻象這樣衝過來，大家現場都好嗨喔！」

民眾表示：「小朋友是元旦寶寶。 （所以特別來參加升旗？) 對！（小朋友剛好在這天生日，有沒有很開心？) 很開心啊！ (這麼多人一起幫她慶生？) 是啊！第一次看到幻象衝場也很新奇。」

為讓這次衝場任務順利，空軍第2聯隊是做足準備，確保機身各部位組件正常運作，也能讓元旦升旗衝場任務能以完美姿態呈現，共同迎接新的一年到來。
