On the other hand, Han Kuo-yu, the head of the KMT's Kaohsiung office, will represent his party to run for Kaosiung City mayor after defeating his fellow party member Chen Yi-ming in the primary. Han said that kaohsiung locals have fed up with the ruling party's poor performance in the past 20 years, and it's time to make changes happen.

The one with the most votes is Mr. Han Kuo-yu.

Han Kuo-yu beat his opponent, KMT Lawmaker Chen Yi-ming, to represent the party and run for Kaohsiung mayor in the upcoming election. The results were not published upon Chen's request. Han Kuo-yu called on his opponent, DPP Candidate Chen Chi-mai, not to resort to smear tactics in the upcoming campaign battle. Han also criticized the ruling DPP for poorly managing Kaohsiung's operation and finances in the last 20 years.

Mayors from the DPP have been running Kaohsiung City for the past 20 years. Everything we see is poor and obsolete. The Kaohsiung locals also believe the party has had more than its fair share of time after 20 years of running. Let us say no to poverty and together fight against it.

KMT Lawmaker Chen Yi-ming, who is currently in Geneva for the World Health Assembly, said in a Facebook post that he will continue to work hard and unite members of the KMT. He also expressed hope for Han Kuo-yu to win the election in Kaohsiung. Han's opponents also include Su Ying-kui, the former head of Taipei City's Department of Labor and Unionist Party Spokesperson Chu Mei-feng.

Before the survey, we had hoped that the central government would give the candidates some time to come up with a result that most are happy with.

Currently, KMT Lawmaker Lin Wei-chou, as well as senior officials Chen Chien-hsien and Yang Wen-ko from Hsinchu County are all looking to run for the magistrate. The KMT is looking to name their candidate by June.
