Penghu will hold its 2nd casino referendum on Oct 15, and the opposition between pro and anti-casino groups rages on. Casino proponents asked former school principals and teachers to advocate for casinos while anti-gambling organizations denounced gambling as poisoned candy. In the lead-up to Penghu's 2nd casino referendum, casino proponents held public briefing sessions to promote the benefits of casinos. ==Ko, Former Magong Elementary School Principal== Parents can receive a subsidy of NT30,000 from elementary school to college, which will help relieve their financial burden. Mothers will also receive NT$50,000 for each baby they have. Casinos will encourage people to have more children and promote our competitiveness. Anti-gambling organizations condemned the former educators for advocating casinos, saying that they have corrupted the moral values of education and have been bought off by the pro-casino groups. Casino opponents also said the feedback fund will come from the exploitation of gamblers and urged Penghu residents not be fooled. ==HUNG I-MEI, Ocean Citizens Foundation== If Penghu consents, the next target would be the Taiwan main island.
