Medium Typhoon Nesat left the island at 10:30 pm last night around Miaoli and Zhunan. In the afternoon, the Central Weather Bureau announced that a new tropical storm Haitang had formed and it issued both marine and land warnings. The two coming so close together will lengthen the impact on Taiwan, bringing a few days of rain, especially in the central and southern regions, there may be localised torrential rain or heavy torrential rain.Today both work and classes in Taiwan and the outlying islands are all halted.
Typhoon Nesat is the first typhoon of the season to impact Taiwan. It left from Miaoli and Zhunan at about 10:30 pm last night, moving northwest towards China and considerably weakened.

Typhoon Nesat left Taiwan at 10:30 pm on July 29 from Miaoli travelling west northwest towards China.
The CWB reminds the public that the whole island will still be impacted by wind and rain especially the central and southern regions which may have localised torrential rain. From July 28, Pingtung County's Jiadong accumulated the most rainfall in Taiwan at 607 millimeters. The second most fell in Yilan's Taipingshan with 477 millimeters and Kaohsiung's Xinan with 297 millimeters. Just to remind the public that after Nesat leaves, tropical storm Haitang will start to come closer to Taiwan.
The CWB reminded the public that the tenth tropical depression had formed a tropical storm Haitang, which was approaching from the southwest. When it was nearer Taiwan, it would impact weather over the central and southern regions. Due to the effect of a double typhoon system, there would be continuous heavy rain in the center and south. Domestic flights are suspended today and the flight times for many international flights have been changed. Check with your airline before leaving for the airport. Services on Taiwan Railway Administration south west lines and branch lines should start up again this morning. Taiwan High Speed Rail said that at the soonest services would resume after midday.
