World's longest sea bridge is almost finished after China spent 5.5 billion USD and seven years building the mammoth. On July 7, China completed the construction of the submarine tunnel of the Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macau Bridge (HZMB), which is the world's longest sea crossing link. The bridge will shorten travel time from Hong Kong to Zhuhai and Macau to 45 minutes. ==LIN MING HZMB Chief Engineer== The main construction is basically completed, including the islands and the main structure of the tunnel. The rest is on the islands' 70,000 square-meter buildings. Everything is going well according to the plan. The two islands are now in the final stage. The bridge has the world's longest submarine tunnel, which will also have six lanes for traffic in two directions like the ones on the bridge. The deepest part of the tunnel is 48 meters below water.
