INDIGENOUS GROUPS EXHIBIT ARTFACTS ON KATEGALEN BOULEVARD PROTEST|凱道抗議被驅離 原民文件寶藏巖再現

In mid-February, indigenous groups angry at the government's land policy set up tents on Kategalen Boulevard and began a protest that lasted until they were driven away by the police on June 2. Before their eviction, they were able to salvage the tents they had been living in as well as the artworks they created during the stake out, and now all these objects are put on display at an exhibition in Taipei. Each and every colored stone marks the commitment from groups across Taiwan to help indigenous groups strive for their traditional territory. On June 2, however, protesters were forcibly evicted and everything placed on Kategalen Boulevard was taken away. Indigenous groups and their supporters recovered stones, artifacts and placards, which are now exhibited at Treasure Hill. ==MAYAW BIHO Amis Tribe== You can throw our items away. We can recover them. Then we start to piece them together. Incomplete as they might be, our spirit to the items is to be seen here. The artifacts, our poems, our stones and our tenacity are as hard as rocks. Indigenous groups said the government's act of violence can only destroy their items, but it will not deter them from protecting their homeland. ==PANAI Puyuma Tribe== Protesting for 120 days makes me strong. The reason why I keep protesting is that it is not allowed to see the government's abuse of power, which persecutes indigenous people's rights over and over again. Panai and other tribespeople still rally outside Taipei Metro's National Taiwan University Hospital Station. They call on more people to voice their support in the hope of seeing the implementation of transitional justice.
