Yesterday was the second day of the Comprehensive Assessment Program for Junior High School Students. Over 80 percent of this year's Science exam questions were data interpretation, showing an emphasis on analytical and judgmental skills. In the reading section of the English exam, test articles were drawn from a wide range of knowledge areas, requiring examinees a basic understanding of different issues to answer the questions. The Ministry of Education said that the exam echoes with the spirit of the new 2019 course guideline, which aims to develop students' analytical and application ability. On May 21, the Comprehensive Assessment Program for Junior High School Students entered the second day. Science was first in the morning.Data interpretation questions were this year more than last year. In the biology section, data interpretation questions even accounted for 85 percent of the questions. In addition, a traditional fishing technique was mentioned in a set of physics group questions. In group questions, the exam also put much emphasis on interpreting data in experiments. As to English, it not only tested the examinees' language ability but also tested their knowledge of social and cultural issues. In the reading section, doctors working overtime and how the globalization of Hollywood movies impacts other countries were all discussed. The listening section was thought to be a little difficult because the language used in some test questions was abstract. ==EXAMINEE== Some of the questions in the listening section were tricky. You may be easily deceived. You have to be very careful in choosing your answers. The high school entrance exam this year was more general knowledge based. The MOE said that a trial test-free senior high school admission program implemented this year will include 15 more schools next year, totaling 30 high schools. It also said that junior high schools adopting the trial 2019 course guideline will increase to 148 schools next year.
