According to police, messaging apps such as WECHAT have become a platform for drug dealers and users to buy and sell drugs. Instead of purchasing drugs from so-called acquaintances, more and more young people now obtain drugs from messaging apps due to its high anonymity.
When you find out that someone is asking for help with strange code names in messaging apps, it may be related to selling illegal drugs.

Through private networks, drug dealers set up message groups to buy and sell drugs.
Many drugs are marked with pseudonyms, and masquerade as coffee and candies. The police pointed out that sometimes, even the drug providers have no idea of what types of drugs they are selling.

New drugs often consist of different types of chemicals. The drug user may not know how much and what types of drug they ingested, especially after attending drug parties one after another. It is harmful to one's health and safety.
On May 5, Taipei City Police Department's Criminal Investigation Division reported the result of its fourth anti-drug operation this year. The crackdown caught 98 cases, and 109 drug dealers and users were arrested. During the operation, the police found that more and more young people are obtaining drugs through messaging apps.

Parents and teachers should help prevent the use of drugs, to observe if there is any abnormal behavior in students. If students are found to have been using drugs, then, the police's juvenile affairs division can help.
Experts said that it is not an easy thing to track down drug dealers and users as smartphone messaging apps are highly anonymous. Besides police effort to beat drugs, both school teachers and parents play an important role in preventing students from experimenting with drugs.
