Tensions are escalating on the Korean Peninsula following the latest missile test by north Korea. The launch occurred just hours before U.S. Vice-President Mike Pence arrived in Seoul. The test failed, but South Korea still described it as a threat to the world and warned of punitive action if North Korea attempts to test a long-range missile.
The South Korean and US militaries said that North Korea tested an unknown missile near Sinpo on the country's east coast in the early morning of the 16th, but that the test failed as the missile exploded almost immediately. Activities commemorated Kim Il-sung continued unaffected in North Korea.

If the news is true, that is fine. Failure will eventually lead to success. We will continue developing even stronger weapons.

I'm sure it's a lie.
American officials said that North Korea was not testing an intercontinental missile. Military experts said that the missile may be a new or upgraded guided missile. The governments of South Korea and Japan have held emergency national security meetings in response to the launch. South Korea's Ministry of Foreign Affairs harshly condemned North Korea for launching the missile after a major military review the previous day, saying that North Korea is defying UN Security Council resolutions and threatening the peace and security of the world.

In yesterday's military parade, North Korea displayed many offensive missiles, and today it has conducted missile tests. This show of power is meant to intimidate the world.
Many analysts believe that North Korea may conduct further missile tests or a sixth nuclear test before the 25th, which is the anniversary of the founding of its military. South Koreans are worried about rising tensions in the Korean Peninsula.

After Trump was elected, US policy has become more threatening toward North Korea. This makes me worried that war could break out.
The Trump administration has taken a hardline stance on North Korea, pressuring the country to give up its missile and nuclear plans. The USS Carl Vinson, a nuclear-powered carrier, has been deployed to waters near the Korean Peninsula. US Vice President Mike Pence will start a three-day visit to South Korea on the 16th, discussing the North Korea issue and showing the US's commitment to its allies in the region.
