The first US presidential debate for the Republican nominee Trump and the Democrat nominee Clinton had attracted millions of viewers to watch. Since both candidates give some negative impressions to voters, this and the upcoming TV debates are even more critical to the two nominees.
The first televised U.S. presidential debate was hosted by NBC's Nightly News Anchor Lester Holt. The first question asked was the economy. Both candidates proposed expanding job market and pay raise. Trump asked for tax-cuts to enterprises while Clinton asked more taxes from the riches for the middle class. Both nominees have negative impressions to voters, British media made fun of this highly anticipated clash: Trump needs to prove he's got the brain, and Clinton needs to prove she's got the heart. Trump and Clinton clashed on the issues of job opportunities, national security and foreign policies. When Clinton talked about Trump's personal income tax, that really upset Trump.
==DONALD TRUMP, U.S. Rep. Nominee==
I will release my tax returns against my lawyers' wishes when she releases her 33,000 e-mails that have been deleted, as soon as she releases them. I will release. I will release my tax returns and that's against my lawyers. They say don't do it.
Trump interrupted Clinton 25 times in the first 26 minutes of the debate. Trump said he has a much better temperament than Clinton. The 70-year-old Trump pointed at the 68-year-old Clinton has no stamina for being a president.
==DONALD TRUMP, U.S. Rep. Nominee==
She doesn't have the look. She doesn't have the stamina.
==HILLARY CLINTON, U.S. Dem. Nominee==
As soon as he travels to 112 countries and negotiates a peace deal, a cease-fire, a release of dissidents, an opening of new opportunities in nations around the world, or even spends 11 hours testifying in front of a congressional committee, he can talk to me about stamina.
==DONALD TRUMP, U.S. Republican Presidential Nominee==
Let me tell you. Let me tell you. Hillary has experience, but it's bad experience.
The post-debate poll shows Clinton has 48% of supports over Trumps' 46%. However, according to CNN Poll of voters who watched the debate, 62% voted for Clinton, while Trump only got 27%.
