KMT, DPP Battle in Nantou Legislative By-election 南投立委補選 藍綠候選人端政策牛肉

Nantou County legislator Hsu Shu-hua vacated her seat upon taking office as Nantou County magistrate. Therefore, the by-election for her seat will be hold on March 4, which is in less than a month. Both DPP and KMT candidates were out in full force. 

Frida Tsai, the DPP candidate for the by-election of Nantou County's legislative seat, came to the market at Nantou's Chung Hsing New Village early in the morning on the 10th. She canvassed at the market and greeted voters one by one. Tsai said if she is elected, she will use practical actions to revitalize the local area.

Frida Tsai, Legislator By-election Candidate (DPP): “The Industrial Technology Research Institute also has several teams carrying out research here. We should establish a policy to reactivate and rebuild the dormitories into suitable residences. And we can also link this to social housing. Let people who want to live here pay proper rent to sustain economic development here.”

Tsai said that Chung Hsing New Village has perfect infrastructure. In the future, the government can effectively revitalize it by implementing a brain gain program in a science and technology park. DPP Chairperson William Lai will travel to Nantou's Chushan with Tsai on the 12th to campaign together. KMT candidate Lin Ming-chen's solution to solving the traffic congestion in Lugu Township is to increase parking space and fight for the budget to build a monorail.

Lin Ming-chen, Legislator By-election Candidate (KMT): “I'm proposing a monorail train to Xitou. If you want to stay overnight, you can drive your car onto the rail. If you don't stay overnight, you can park your car here and take this sightseeing train to Xitou.”

Lin said that in addition to adding alternative roads, he also hopes there are traffic diversions to direct tourists into Xitou, hoping to solve the traffic problem. Less than a month before the vote, both parties have become increasingly aggressive and defensive. They have presented their policies, trying their best to win voters. 

 

民進黨南投立委補選候選人蔡培慧，10日一早來到南投中興新村的市場，不僅和攤商搏感情，也和選民一一拜託。這回選在南投中興新村拜票，蔡培慧說當選之後，要用實際行動來活化當地。

蔡培慧認為：「工研院也有好幾組團隊在這裡研究，應該制定一個適合這裡、我們的宿舍再活化的政策。再活化的政策也可以跟社會住宅連結，讓想住在這裡的人有適當的租金，維持這裡的經濟發展。」

蔡培慧表示，南投中興新村有完善空間規劃，未來搭配科技園區引進人才，將可有效進行活化。而在12日，也將和民進黨主席賴清德前往南投竹山，希望得到更多選民支持。國民黨候選人林明溱，則是提出解決鹿谷鄉塞車問題，要增加停車空間，也將爭取預算興建單軌電車。

林明溱說明：「（建議興建）單軌列車開到溪頭。如果要住宿的話你再（把車）開上去；不住宿的話，你就把車停在這邊（停車場），搭這個觀光列車到溪頭去遊玩。」

林明溱表示，除了增加替代道路，也希望以分流的方式，將遊客導進溪頭，希望解決塞車困境。距離投票不到一個月，雙方攻防越來越激烈，也都提出政見，全力爭取選民目光。
