Evergreen Marine Year-end Bonus: 45 to 52 Months' Salary 長榮海運年終約45個月 部分可至52個月

The COVID-19 pandemic has reshaped people's daily lives and the global trade and economy, while many shipping giants raked in record-breaking profits due to soaring shipping prices. Evergreen Marine's profit this year is estimated to exceed NT$300 billion and there have been speculations that its employees would receive an annual bonus worth around 45 to 52 months of salary.


Many employees of Evergreen Marine were looking forward to being woken up by money. The amount did not disappoint. A total bonus of NT$2.33 million was received, making other office workers envious!

Chiu Chun-jung, Economics Professor, National Central Univ.: “The company had good overall performance and good earnings. That surplus cash is good. As the company is not aggressively expanding and using cash, they issued it to employees as a year-end bonus due to the better performance this year. I think it's a very reasonable approach.”

Evergreen Marine Shipping Company issued 40 months' salary for its year-end bonus in 2021. The company is estimated to make at least NT$300 billion profit this year, which motivates the company to pay out a generous year-end bonus. Basic-level employees with a monthly salary of NT$40,000 to NT$50,000 is reported to receive a year-end bonus of 45 months' salary. The highest year-end bonus is reportedly up to 52 months' salary. YangMing Marine Transport has announced it will issue a 13-month year-end bonus, while Wan Hai Shipping has not yet announced. Compared with the shipping industry's increasing profits, the aviation industry's year-end bonus has not yet returned to the pre-pandemic levels. EVA Air reported that its year-end bonus is 3 months' salary, and bonuses at China Airlines and Starlux are reported to be one month's salary.

Yang Tsung-pin, Assistant PR Manager, Human Resources Company: “Year-end bonuses can only be driven by company profitability, which requires passenger entry and exit numbers back to the level of tens of millions of people before the epidemic. Otherwise, the recent effect of lifting border restrictions may be short-lived and will not drive the recovery of year-end bonuses.”

The large year-end bonus makes it difficult for Evergreen Marine employees to hide their good fortunes and maintain a low profile! Evergreen Marine may again be crowned this year's year-end bonus king. Whether it will maintain this year's prosperity for next year is of concern to all walks of life.

 

 

一大早,不少長榮海運的員工,都期待能夠再度被錢砸醒,這個金額果然沒讓人失望,算一算,「個、十、百、千、萬」,總共233萬的年終獎金入袋,又讓全台上班族羨慕到爆。

中央大學經濟學系教授邱俊榮表示:「整體績效不錯,盈餘很好,那盈餘很好又沒有進一步的這個、積極性地擴張運用的同時,大概把今年的績效比較好的,發給員工做為年終獎金,我想是一個很合理的這個做法。」

根據了解,長榮海運公司,繼去(2021)年發出40個月的年終獎金後,今年的獲利推估至少3000億以上,這也激勵公司大手筆發放年終獎金。根據了解,如果是基層月薪領4到5萬的員工,傳出普發年終獎金45個月,而年終獎金,最高發放到52個月。陽明海運則傳出,也有年終獎金13個月,萬海海運則還沒公佈。只是相較海運產業獲利上揚,在航空業部分,年終獎金則還沒恢復到疫情前榮景,長榮航空傳出年終3個月,華航和星宇則傳出都是1個月年終。

人力銀行公關副理楊宗斌指出:「整個所謂的出入境人次,回到疫情前千萬人次的水準情況下,整個公司的獲利狀況才有辦法帶動年終獎金的反彈,不然近期的這個解封的一個效應,可能只有短暫的一個效果,沒有辦法帶動年終獎金的回溫。」

暴衝的年終獎金,讓長榮海運的員工,好「薪」情藏不住,想低調也難。也讓長榮海運,可望再度連莊今年的年終王,明年是否會維持今年榮景,各界都在關注。
