Mini-three Links to Be Resumed for One Month
The mini-three links are set to be reinstated for one month, three years after they were suspended. The Executive Yuan approved the resumption of the mini-three links on Dec. 22 after considering the need of people with household registrations in Kinmen and Matsu to return home and visit family during the Lunar New Year period. The links are being resumed on a project basis from Jan. 7 to Feb. 6, and only people with household registrations in Kinmen and Matsu and Chinese spouses of Taiwan nationals can apply.
Lo Ping-cheng, Spokesperson, Executive Yuan: “We considered that the epidemic situation in China is very grim right now, as well as opaque. In addition, the medical treatment capacity of the Kinmen and Matsu areas is extremely limited. We also needed to respect the opinions of local officials and residents. Today, we are announcing a Lunar New Year transport project for people with Kinmen and Matsu household registrations. It will be implemented in the two weeks before and after the Lunar New Year next year, or from Jan. 7 to Feb. 6.”
Those people who meet the requirements and have the need can apply to the Maritime Port Bureau. Meanwhile, the Mainland Affairs Council said that in light of quarantine capacity limits, there will be a maximum of one ferry service to Kinmen a day and two ferry services to Matsu per week. Adjustments will be made depending on the results and changes to the epidemic situation to gradually and fully resume the mini-three links.
