Taichung's New Mini-cabinet Has Not Yet Been Announced 盧秀燕三緘其口 小內閣人事異動遲未宣布

KMT's Lu Shiow-yen won her second term as mayor of Taichung but who will be leading the city with her has yet to be announced.

Taichung City Mayor Lu Shiow-yen has won another term in office, but she has not yet announced who will lead the city with her. The news came on the 19th, however, that her paid consultant, former Tourism and Travel Bureau Director-General Lin Hsiao-chi, and Research, Development, and Evaluation Commission Chairperson, Wu Huang-sheng, both made resignation announcements on their Facebook posts. Wu said he wishes to spend more time with his family. Mayor Lu held the last Municipal Administrative Meeting of the current term on the 20th. She refrained from responding to questions from the media.

There are rumors that both incumbent Taichung Deputy Mayors Chen Tzu-ching and Bruce Linghu, as well as Spokesperson Huang Kuo-wei gave verbal resignation notices to Mayor Lu. In the meantime, both Fire Bureau Director-General Tseng Chin-tsai and Agriculture Bureau Director-General Tsai Ching-chiang have reached retirement age, which could lead to personnel changes soon. In view of possibly big personnel changes in the Taichung City Government, councilor-elect Chiang Ho-shu said Mayor Lu should clarify things as soon as possible and not let her voters down.

Chiang Ho-shu, Taichung City Councilor-elect (TPP): “Why are officials giving resignation notices before the 25th? Not just the two deputy mayors but also bureau heads. It makes us wonder, not to mention how citizens would think and feel. These officials make a good team, why would you want to make changes? I hope Mayor Lu would carefully pick the right people for the positions in her mini-Cabinet.”

Lu has been very discreet with the reorganization of her mini-Cabinet since the election. The city government stressed that Taichung voters must have believed in Lu and that's why they gave her another term in office. An official announcement would be made as soon as all members have been confirmed, Lu's office said.

記者問：「市長，可不可以談一下人事問題？我們兩位副市長有聽說請辭嗎？」

台中市長盧秀燕回應：「早安，大家早。」

而台中市兩位副市長陳子敬、令狐榮達，以及市府發言人黃國瑋，外傳也都已經向盧秀燕口頭請辭，加上消防局長曾進財、農業局長蔡精強屆齡退休，也有異動可能。有民代認為，連任的市府團隊出現離職潮，是否有隱情，若有更好的人選，應盡速向外界說明，以免辜負選民的付託。

民眾黨台中市議員當選人江和樹指出：「為什麼選擇在25日之前來做一個口頭請辭，不只兩位副市長，各局處的一些一級主管都有這種動作，讓我們心裡在想，百姓會怎麼想，這麼好的團隊妳怎麼會換掉，我也希望說市長要認真，把好的人選要換好。」

盧秀燕勝選後，對人事調整保密到家，連團隊首長都難窺全貌。市府強調市長連任，代表施政表現受肯定，部分局處首長因生涯規畫而調整，人事籌組完成，將向市民整體宣布。
