Chiang's Team Should Make Transition Easier: Ko 看好蔣萬安團隊 柯文哲:上任阻礙會比較少

Taipei City Mayor Ko Wen-je will step down on Dec. 25. Ko said he hopes the new municipal team will continue with his plans.

Taipei City Mayor Ko Wen-je smiled as Taipei City Deputy Mayor Pong Cheng-sheng handed him letters of gratitude and gifts from senior administration officials, which resigned en masse on Dec. 20. Ko will step down on Dec. 25 after eight years in charge of Taipei City. He said his major achievements during this period include removing the dedicated bus lane on Zhongxiao West Road, promoting large-scale urban renewal projects in the west and east districts, and constructing social housing. He said the distinguishing characteristics of his administration were integrity and honesty.

Ko Wen-je, Mayor, Taipei City: “That's why I still want to tell everyone that the core of politics is execution. In the past, Taiwan had too many political slogans and too little was accomplished. We hope that municipal administrations can pass the baton, and that the next government will work hard to keep Taipei moving forward.”

Ko said he hopes the new municipal team will continue with his plans. The mayor posed for a photo with his municipal team, which signaled the start of the transition period. During the eight years of the Ko administration, 113 senior officials resigned or were transferred. When asked if this means there is room for improvement in his human resources management, the mayor said he doesn't view it like this.

Ko Wen-je, Mayor, Taipei City: “There were people retiring, transferring to the central government, and even receiving promotions or transfers within the administration during these eight years. That's why you can't just look at this number alone. If you want to make comparisons with other cities and counties, it's not too bad. I know because I looked.”

Reporters asked Ko for his thoughts about his successor, Chiang Wan-an. Ko responded that many things won't be known until Chiang takes office, but he has a good impression of Chiang's team and that should make the transition easier. Chiang has set a goal of having Taipei Dome safely up and running within one year of taking office. Ko said it has passed a central government inspection and the next step of a trial run should be very easy.

台北市長柯文哲表示：「所以還是要跟大家講，政治的核心是執行力，過去台灣政治口號太多，做得太少，那我們也希望說市政是一棒接一棒，下一任的政府一樣繼續努力，讓台北繼續前進。」

希望下一任執政團隊一棒接一棒，延續市政規劃，柯文哲和局處首長一同拍下畢業照，也代表卸任進入倒數階段。不過8年任內，至少有113個正副首長離職或調職，用人管理有沒有需要檢討的地方，柯文哲倒不這樣想。

台北市長柯文哲認為：「本來8年當中有沒有退休的，轉往中央發展的，甚至在府內升官調職的都有，所以這種數字，我覺得常常是這樣啦，不看單個數字，如果你要跟其它的縣市來比，我自己看過是還好。」

有媒體問，即將接任的台北市長當選人蔣萬安，是不是柯文哲眼中的市政資優生，柯文哲回應，很多事情要等上任才知道，不過蔣萬安的團隊還不錯，未來上任的障礙也會比較少一些。對於蔣萬安喊出，大巨蛋要在他上任1年內安全營運，柯文哲也說，中央審查過了，後面其實就是試營運計畫而已，很容易。
