Morris Chang Arrives in Bangkok for APEC Summit APEC領袖代表張忠謀抵曼谷 僑胞熱情歡迎

The APEC Leaders' Meeting opened on the 18th, with TSMC founder Morris Chang representing Taiwan at the conference. At the ministerial meeting the night before, Minister without Portfolio John Deng spoke with U.S. Trade Representative Katherine Tai.

Morris Chang gets a warm welcome at his Bangkok hotel from the overseas community in Thailand. On the 18th, he attended the APEC summit.

Morris Chang, TSMC Founder: “(The Taiwanese business community) is doing very well. (Do you plan to talk chips with Kamala Harris?) I haven't seen her.”

Minister without Portfolio John Deng and National Development Council Minister Kung Ming-hsin attended the APEC Annual Ministerial Meeting on the 17th. They told their counterparts from other countries about Taiwan's desire to participate in regional and economic integration.

Kung Ming-hsin, National Development Minister: “During a break, (John Deng) and Katherine Tai were chatting and laughing quite loudly. They were laughing very loudly, so that clearly means they were getting along extremely well.”

John Deng, Minister without Portfolio: “(Was there any interaction with China?) No.”

Deng and Kung were able to speak with ministers from at least six or eight countries and were seated in the same general area as U.S. Trade Representative Katherine Tai.

僑胞熱情迎接，我國領袖代表張忠謀，17日晚間抵達曼谷下榻飯店，準備參加18日一早登場的APEC領袖峰會。

台積電創辦人張忠謀指出：「（台商）生意做得很好，這個發財。」被問到這次有沒有要跟賀錦麗談到晶片相關議題，他回應，兩人目前還沒有見面。

17日登場的部長級年會，行政院政務委員鄧振中、國發會主委龔明鑫代表出席，跟各國官員進行互動交流，也表達我方積極參與區域經濟整合的意願。這次各國也對台灣興趣濃厚，至少有6到8國都有互動，尤其我方跟美國貿易代表戴琪座位接近，雙方有熱烈交談。

國發會主委龔明鑫表示：「休息的時間，他（鄧振中）跟戴琪真的是很大聲、談笑風生，笑得很大聲，所以是互動非常好。」

面對記者詢問，是否也跟中國互動熱烈，行政院政務委員鄧振中回應：「我自己沒有。」

APEC部長級年會17日結束，我國跟各國的代表都熱烈互動，不過，唯獨兩岸官員還是零互動。」
