Scooter Driver Assaulted Police Officer While Being Questioned 彰男騎車未戴罩抽菸遭攔查 竟失控襲警

A Changhua police officer was assaulted by a scooter driver after finding knives and prohibited articles in the scooter's trunk and questioning him. Meanwhile, in Taichung, two men were in a brawl after drinking at a bar. Police officers sprayed pepper water to stop the aggression. 

At around 10 p.m. on the 7th, one police officer during his patrol in downtown Changhua questioned a scooter driver who looked suspicious. The man was smoking while driving and he was not wearing a mask. The officer ended up finding knives and prohibited articles in the trunk of the man's scooter. 

Police: “What you have with you are prohibited articles.”

Scooter Driver: “What if I get beat up by someone, what if someone does something to me, what do I do? I'm just afraid if I get stopped by someone and they decide to hurt me.”

The man got more and more upset from the conversation and he ended up blowing his fuse and assaulted the officer when the officer tried to take him to the police station.

Scooter Driver: “So what's going on now? Shoot me if you dare. ”

Eight more police officers arrived at the scene for support and held the man to the ground. Police officers later said that the man will be charged with carrying dangerous weapons on the road and violation of social order. He will also be held responsible for attacking the police.

Hou Chun-fa, Director, Zhongzheng Police Station, Changhua: “The man surnamed Chen will be charged with insulting, assaulting, and obstructing an officer in the discharge of duties.”

In Taichung, police officers were trying to break apart two men who were in a brawl after drinking at a bar. One of the two men surnamed Lin assaulted the police during questioning. A police officer sprayed pepper water to stop Lin's behavior.

Ke Kuan-hung, Deputy Captain, Investigation Team, 6th Precinct, Taichung: “The man surnamed Lin would not listen to the police and clearly obstructed the officer from carrying out his duties.”

Two people were sent to the hospital for treatment of injuries. However, conflict continued as three other friends of Lin followed him to the emergency room. Police officers arrested those three men and charged them with fights and violation of medical care.

7日晚間10時許，員警在彰化市區巡邏，看見男子騎車抽菸又未戴口罩，行跡可疑將他攔下盤查，發現機車的置物箱裡有多把刀械和違禁物。

男子表示：「我如果被人家打、被怎樣了，我要怎麼辦？我怕我被人家攔下來、被人家打。」

男子情緒越來越激動，一聽到員警要將他帶回派出所，隨即情緒失控攻擊員警。

男子大喊：「現在是要怎樣，你夠膽對我開槍。」

現場員警呼叫支援，8名員警趕來將男子壓制在地。警方表示，男子攜帶違禁刀械，將依涉嫌違反《槍砲彈藥管制條例》、《社會秩序維護法》送辦。至於攻擊員警的部分，也得一併追究法律責任。

彰化縣警局中正派出所所長侯春發指出：「本案陳嫌辱罵及攻擊警方行為，依妨礙公務予以偵辦。」

而在台中，兩名男子在酒店喝酒，雙方發生口角爭執，員警到場處理，正準備上前詢問動手的林姓男子，對方卻出手攻擊警方，員警以辣椒水反制。

台中市六分局偵查隊副隊長柯冠宏表示：「涉案（動手的）林姓男子有不聽警方勸阻，甚至妨礙公務執行之情形。」

警方將現場兩名傷患送醫治療，但林姓男子的另外3名友人又到急診室鬧事，警方最後將3人全部逮捕，依傷害、聚眾鬥毆，和違反《醫療法》等罪嫌移送法辦。
