Resident Detained by China for Separatist Activities 台人楊智淵被控從事台獨 在中國被拘捕

Human rights defender Lee Ming-che recently returned to Taiwan after serving 5-year jail sentence in China. According to a CCTV report, Taiwanese National Party Vice Chairperson Yang Chih-yuan has been detained in China for engaging in separatist activities and endangering national security.

On Aug. 3, CCTV reported that a Taiwan resident has been detained and charged with engaging in separatist activities.

CCTV Reporter: “The criminal suspect named Yang Chih-yuan, who was actively engaged in separatist activities for "Taiwan independence" and suspected of endangering national security, has been detained.”

The man that was detained is reportedly him. “I will never compromise on my anti-communism, you have to fight in order to be free.”

Yang Chih-yuan is 32 and a former member of the Democratic Progressive Party. He later established the "Taiwanese National Party." He ran for the position of legislator representing New Taipei City under the banner of the Taiwan Action Party Alliance. He was also involved in numerous social movements. Human rights defender Lee Ming-che, who recently returned to Taiwan after serving time in China for promoting Taiwan independence and subverting state power, criticized China's actions and likened them to kidnappers.

Lee Ming-che, Human Rights Defender: “In my view, China is like a kidnapper that kidnaps. When I was in a foreign country and under house arrest, I wasn't able to receive any information from my family. I was monitored 24 hours a day. No one talks to you, other than interrogators. It's actually psychological oppression.”

Lee disappeared after traveling to China. He was ultimately imprisoned for subverting state power. Lee expressed concerns about the mental pressures during the time contact with the outside world is cut off.

Tsai Pi-chung, Deputy Justice Minister: “China doesn't notify us of anything they think is related to national security. We haven't received any notification.”

Although the two sides have signed the Cross-Strait Joint Crime-Fighting and Judicial Mutual Assistance Agreement, the Ministry of Justice said China has not released any information so it can't do anything. The Criminal Investigation Bureau said it has not been notified, while the Mainland Affairs Council said a joint statement will be made.

被中國國安局人員架住，拘提帶往審查，中國官媒央視3日晚間報導，被抓的是名台灣籍男子，被指控從事台獨分裂活動，遭到逮捕。

央視記者表示：「長期從事台獨分裂活動，涉嫌危害國家安全的犯罪嫌疑人楊智淵，實施刑事拘傳審查。」

美國眾議院議長裴洛西前腳剛離開台灣，中共馬上有動作，這名被捕的男子，傳出就是他。「反共絕無妥協!奮鬥才能自由!」

今年32歲的楊智淵，曾經加入民進黨，後來創立「台灣民族黨」，在2020年代表一邊一國行動黨參選新北市立委，過去也投入各種社運。這回被中國指控推動台獨、鼓譟公投建國，涉嫌分裂國家犯罪和煽動分裂國家犯罪，最近剛從中國獲釋返台的李明哲，抨擊中共行徑有如綁匪。

李明哲指出：「在我來看，它（中國）就像是一個綁匪綁票一樣，人在異國而且軟禁的時候，完全接收不到家人的任何資訊，處在一個24小時被人監控，除了審訊以外，沒有任何人跟你講話，其實是一個精神的壓迫。」

想起過去經歷，李明哲還歷歷在目，因為當初入境中國後，突然被消失，最後還被依「顛覆國家政權罪」判刑關押，李明哲憂心和外界失聯的這段日子，恐飽受精神壓力。

法務部政次蔡碧仲表示：「他們（中國）涉及到有類似，他們認為是國安的部分，他就不會通報，目前都還沒有跟我們通報。」

雖然兩岸有共同打擊犯罪機制，但法務部坦言，中方目前仍未給出任何消息，無法有進一步行動。刑事局也說，未獲相關通知，而陸委會則將在下午對外統一說明。
