Police are of course not immune to the disease, with over 400 of them coming down with COVID in Kaohsiung City. The Police say mobile police stations and more patrols will be deployed so police force and service won't be disrupted.
The number of confirmed COVID cases continues to increase, and many police officers have also been infected with the virus. Kaohsiung has more than 400 out of 7,600 police officers that have been diagnosed with the virus, among them, 60 officers from the Fengshan Precinct. Many officers from Lingya's Fude 2nd Road Police Station have been infected with the virus, resulting in public concerns about the police force. Kaohsiung Police emphasized on the 27th that units with confirmed cases will be supported by precincts and mobile police stations.
Chang Kuo-tsan, Director, Duty Dispatch Division, Police Dept., Kaohsiung: “If there is an infection, the first thing we do is to disinfect the police station and all personnel. Our service will never be interrupted, however. We will immediately park a patrol car or a mobile police station in front of the police station to continue our duties.”
In addition to the police, Fengshan is currently the district with the largest number of confirmed cases in Kaohsiung. However, several homeless people gathered together at Fengshan Transfer Station chatting, and one or two of them were not wearing masks. A volunteer at the nearby Tatung Park said that homeless people usually gathered and chatted without masks under the banyan tree in the park on sunny days. This causes concern among the public about epidemic prevention.
Although the epidemic prevention policy is being relaxed, most basic regulations such as wearing masks remain unchanged. Many homeless people are seen gathering without masks in tourist and recreational hot spots. The public have expressed their hope that the city government will try to resettle homeless people to ensure epidemic prevention and safety.
確診者不斷增加，警界也不少人染疫，高雄近7600名警力，目前有400多人確診。其中鳳山分局外傳有60人染疫，苓雅福德二路派出所同樣有多人染疫，讓外界擔心警力問題，市警局今（27）日強調，有確診者的單位，會由分局、機動派出所等相互支援。
高市警行政科長張國讚表示：「有染疫的話，我們第一時間點，當然是派出所的人員，我們會做全部人員的淨空清消，然後會把我們勤務絕對不能中斷，會立即以巡邏車或者機動派出所的方式，在派出所前面來繼續執勤。」
而除了警界，鳳山是目前高雄確診人數最多的行政區，但來到鳳山轉運站，卻看到幾個街友群聚聊天，有一、兩人還沒戴口罩。附近大東公園的志工表示，平常若沒下雨，街友就會聚在公園榕樹下聊天，常常沒戴口罩，讓民眾擔心防疫問題。
儘管防疫政策正在放寬，但最基本的戴口罩等規定還是不變，在觀光及運動勝地，看到街友沒戴口罩群聚，也讓民眾紛紛表示，希望政府設法安置街友，確保防疫安全。
