June 4 was the 31st anniversary of the Tiananmen Square protests. Vigils were held in both Taipei and Kaohsiung. During the latter, groups pushing for the recall of Kaohsiung City Mayor Han Kuo-yu marched and released sky lanterns.


At 8:09 p.m. on June 4, a moment of silence lasting for 64 seconds was held in Taiwan and Hong Kong to commemorate the Tiananmen Square protests. Hong Kong nationals based in Taiwan organized a candlelight vigil at Taipei's Liberty Square. Causeway Bay Books founder Lam Wing-kee and Hong Kong lyricist Albert Leung were in attendance.

I think the Communist Party of China is being ridiculous. Not only are you not allowed to mention the words "June 4," but their websites have also deleted questions about June 4. Many voices are disappearing.

Leung said he as a Hong Konger is not afraid of China's threats.

This phrase is really dangerous in Hong Kong, but I was born as a Hong Konger and as a person and I'm not afraid. May the heavens exterminate the Chinese Communist Party and end the one-party dictatorship.

Several thousand people attended the vigil, and sang "Glory to Hong Kong," the anthem of the anti-extradition bill protests.

Let's go, Hong Kong people. Let's go, Kaohsiung people. Let's go.

Groups supporting the recall of Kaohsiung City Mayor Han Kuo-yu also organized a vigil in Kaohsiung. They marched through Gushan District and released sky lanterns to mourn victims and pray for Hong Kong.



6月4號晚上8點零9分，與香港同步默哀64秒鐘，由在台港人發起六四事件31週年燭光晚會，在台北自由廣場舉行，銅鑼灣書店創辦人林榮基、還有香港作詞人林夕也到場聲援。

香港作詞人 林夕表示：「我覺得中共真的很可笑，六四兩個字，不敢提以外，連問到六四，都(在)官網取消了，所以消失的聲音何其多。」

林夕強調自己身為香港人，面對中國的威脅沒在怕。

香港作詞人 林夕表示：「這一句話很危險，在香港，可是我是生而為一個香港人，或者是生而為人，我沒在怕。天滅中共、結束一黨專政。」

活動約有上千人參與，晚間九點多，大家以演唱"反送中代表歌曲"願榮光歸香港"和平落幕。

「香港人加油，加油！高雄人，加油！」

罷韓團體昨天也在高雄鼓山區舉行"六四撐香港"遊行，隊伍沿著鼓山區臨海二路，走到鐵道園區，並且施放天燈，一同追悼六四，為香港祈福，為高雄加油。
